Your Life Purpose - 5 Simple Ways to Present Awareness

Aside from having your individual and unique life purpose, you also have a life purpose that is shared with every other human on this planet. This other life purpose, sometimes referred to as your primary life purpose, is less about doing and more about being, being in the present moment.

Living for the Next Moment

In today's busy 24/7 world it is easy to get caught up in all the things we've got to do and the seemingly little time there is to accomplish it all. It is not uncommon for people to be so caught up in getting to the next item on their calendar or to do list, that the activity presently done, is participated in or executed in an absentminded way.

By always living for the next moment, the power, sparkle and magic of the present moment is lost. Living with this state of mind most of the time is very draining and unsatisfactory.

Recharge & Thrive through Presence

It is by being present with all of our senses in the moment and quieting the mind, that we recharge our batteries and live life more fully. By just being and having a distance to all the happenings in your life, both good and bad, you are fulfilling your primary life purpose.

How we do things is more important then what we do. This doesn't mean that the actions are unimportant, it is just that the quality of your actions will be more consistent and in line with your unique individual Life Purpose, when they arise from the higher state of consciousness that you operate from when you are present in the moment.

5 Simple Ways to Present Awareness

Following are a few simple ways to get you started towards spending more of your time in the present moment.

1. Watch Your Mind

Probably the biggest hindrance to being in the present moment for most is a mind that never stops chugging over problems, what to do next or what happened yesterday and so on...

To create space between your inner self and the noise of your mind, you just need to become aware that your mind is "making noise" and quietly return your focus to the present moment.

2. Watch Your Schedule

It is hard for the most spiritual among us to be present in the moment if we are overbooked or running behind. Do yourself a big favour and clean out your schedule and make space for just being.

3. Raise Your Awareness

If you have had a life purpose reading you are likely aware of what your individual Life Lesson is. That information has given you increased awareness and you can now observe when your Life Lesson appears in your life. You now have the choice to not allow it to derail you.

Here is an example, the Life Lesson can be feelings of guilt as you enjoy a pleasant moment, but armed with this knowledge that the feelings of guilt is but an illusion, you can more easily dismiss those feelings and go back to enjoying yourself fully.

If you don't know your individual Life Lesson, you can still raise your awareness and observe negative emotions as they come up and choose not to let them take hold of you and become your reality at that moment in time.

4. Follow Your Breath

An ancient technique to keep you in the present moment is to follow the rhythm of your breath, as it fills and vacates your lungs. Try it for yourself and notice that it is impossible to be in the past or the future as you ride the wave of your breath.

Following your breath is a very good way of staying present during stressful or unpleasant situations as the breaths tend to be deeper when you bring conscious attention to your breathing. The extra oxygen is also grounding and strengthens your intuition.

5. Focus On Your Senses

If you have ever eaten some delicious food without even noticing the taste as your mind was elsewhere as you fed yourself on autopilot, you know what I mean when I talk about the importance to be present to fully enjoy the pleasures of life.

Experience the world with all your senses on high, and pretend that it is the first time you see a beautiful flower, hear a bird sing or feel a delicious chocolate truffle melt in your mouth. To truly have an experience, all of you must be present at once!
